ELIZABETH KEITH'S WORK

The Studio for September gives several reproductions, two in colour, with a short introductory note by Georg Brochner, of Miss Elizabeth Keith's Japanese prints. Foreign residents are familiar with the attractive work of this talented artist, whose pictures have been exhibited on several occasions in Shanghai, Tientsin and Peking, as well as elsewhere in the Orient. We are glad to hear that Miss Keith's work has met with a very favourable reception both in America and England. As Bro.ckner points out, her mediurn and technique are Japanese, her conceptions, motif and point of approach are her own-occidental. She is one of the leaders in a new school of art-a school that combines all that is best in the art of both East and West; and she is a Master Workman.
